The next day after breakfast we went to the Smithsonian Natural History Museum. When we got there the first thing we saw was a stuffed elephant. But immediately afterwards we went upstairs. Where we saw a land crab. We also saw a scorpion, cactus and tarantula. Plus a black widow, with a Brown recluse spider!! There was a centipede as well. There was even tarantula feeding, it was cool. After that we went to a place, with some butterfly's but loads of pupas. We saw living bees making a honeycomb. We saw honeypot ants, and loads of types of flies. There were also stupid stick insect, as they were on the ceiling of their cage being totally in camouflaged.
After that we went to the Egyptian section where we did a quiz and saw Egyptian mummies. We saw skeletons of many underwater creatures, and birds' including a ray skeleton, which not even Dad had seen before. We had a lunch break, in which we ate sandwiches and wraps and drank Coke. We also saw the Hope Diamond and loads of other glistening gems and crystals, there was the biggest flawless quartz sphere. We also saw a massive meteorite. After that we went into a butterfly area, where everyone in my family except Amelie had one land on them, including me.
