On previous visits to New York I have been known to visit several reputable retail establishments on Fifth Avenue ... but that was in times before the arrival of children *sigh*.
Largely due to luggage capacity limitations, given moving from city to city, I decided to not pack my trainers - bad move! Given the mileage we have covered on foot to date my feet & legs were protesting about my chosen footwear (I can hear my, podiatry trained, Mother's voice :o)).
So there was nothing else for it, before heading up the Rockerfeller Centre I purchased a new pair trainers & some socks - they were in the sale, honest Colin ;o)
Not to be outdone, Amelie was soon complaining that her feet were sore in her plimsolls. After reviving Colin, when he saw the price of kids trainers, Amelie too has a new pair of trainers, although she seems as pleased with the funky bag which came with them - girl did good shoes & bag!!!
